Pulled a cluster out of a yard a few months ago. Swapped my speedo (for the odometer) and the little Dodge nameplate into it, and put it in the truck. It works! The dash lights went out on the old one, so I was stoked to see the ones in the new cluster worked like new.
The old cluster.
Much better! The dash bezel was out because A. It had to be and B. Dad decided he’d paint it for me.

Nice swap!

Why on earth would they have so much wasted space on the original? Looks much better now!

So they could charge extra for the tach probably.

The $1200 “deluxe trim” includes a tachometer, chrome wheel beauty rings, and a locking gas cap.

But now you won’t have a seatbelt reminder gauge. Sad!

Ooh, a tach! This was a direct swap? Everything works?

Why was the gas gauge so big on the old one?

They had to put SOMETHING in place of the tach.

Everything that worked before. Something under the hood got pulled so the temp gauge doesn’t work. That was months ago. It was pretty much plug n play.

Whatever shall I do?!

Hm, hopefully that temp circuit won’t be too hard to track down.
How about the tach? Does it work, even though it wasn’t part of “everything that worked before”?

The tach is friggin’ FLAWLESS.

That’s awesome!
